about

This is a revised version of 2002’s “Misantropolis EP” by the Munich DJ-Collective Ground Zero (founded in 2000). DJ Scientist and Backdraft, who formed the backbone of the crew, are the main producers for this debut EP which is based on raw instrumentals, turntablism and also rap. Among others, “Take Over” features cuts Robbie Bubble (aka German DMC Champion DJ M-Tech) and “Bergkristall” features vocals by Omega Takeshi (of 88:Komaflash), whereas the intro song “Devotion” has been produced by Misanthrop.
“Misantropolis” is considered as one of the first German “Abstract Hip-Hop” and Turntablism releases and remains a classic in its own right.

The original version of the EP, which has been released on a 12” vinyl, had another vocal track and had a different track listing. This revised version also includes two unreleased bonus instrumentals.
